Making room
for another way
of feeling.
I am Xiaoxia Chen, an artist and interactive media designer. My work moves between drawing, experimental film and embodied interaction. I often begin with a personal experience—a feeling, a memory, a question about the body—and explore how it might become a space that someone else can enter.
I use projection, point clouds and real-time media to create encounters between the physical and the imagined. Recent projects consider memory, bodily autonomy and the possibilities of a cybernetic future.
I hold an MA in Art and Science from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and studied Experimental Media Art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. My professional practice spans visual design, augmented reality, projection mapping and animation storyboarding. I am interested in developing this experience towards character performance and storytelling for film and games.
